BIOGRAPHY

Tiwanaku culture is the highpoint of Bolivian artistic output. It is known mostly for its outstanding tapestry weaving, starting from the 3rd Century through the 9th Century. The Tiwanaku ceramic tradition is more limited than that of neighboring Peru, mostly comprised of flared drinking vessels and incensarios. Their stonework is magnificent, as witnessed in the ruins at Tiwanaku between Lake Titicaca and La Paz.
